Alder Estates is ideally positioned in Sun Peaks' peaceful East Village, close to the golf course, Nordic trails, mountain biking routes and improved East Village ski access.

Follow the Valley Trail or take a short drive into the village core for coffee, dining, shopping, spa services and everyday essentials.

Driving to Sun Peaks

Sun Peaks is accessible throughout the year by well-travelled highways and a maintained mountain road from Kamloops. From Highway 5 north of the city, turn onto Old Highway 5 at Heffley Creek and continue along Tod Mountain Road toward the resort.

Approximate driving times:

  • Kamloops: 45 minutes
  • Vernon: 2 hours
  • Kelowna: 3 hours
  • Penticton: 3 hours
  • Vancouver: 4.5 to 5 hours
  • Whistler: 5 to 5.5 hours
  • Seattle: 5.5 to 7 hours
  • Calgary: 8 hours

Other Ways to Reach Sun Peaks

Whether you arrive by air, book a private transfer or connect through Kamloops by bus or rail, there are several convenient ways to complete your journey to Sun Peaks.

Arriving by Air

Kamloops Airport (YKA) is the closest airport, approximately 45 minutes from Sun Peaks. Travellers can continue by shared shuttle, private transfer, taxi or rental car.

Kelowna International Airport (YLW) is another option, approximately two hours and 45 minutes from the resort. Flight routes and schedules vary by season.

Shuttles & Private Transfers

Shared shuttles, private transfers and taxis operate between Sun Peaks, Kamloops, Kamloops Airport and Kelowna International Airport. Advance reservations are strongly recommended.

Once you arrive, the complimentary in-resort shuttle serves more than 20 stops throughout the community.

Bus & Rail Connections

Passenger bus services connect Kamloops with Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton and other regional destinations. A shuttle or taxi can complete the journey from Kamloops to Sun Peaks.

VIA Rail also serves Kamloops. Transportation from Kamloops North station to the resort should be arranged in advance.
